The JOURNEY
Jeffery Alex James Johnson was called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ at the early age of 12, and has been striving to serve with excellence ever since. Now at the age of 28, he has vast experience in a number of arenas and has developed into a proven leader, motivator, pastor, and teacher. Through these experiences coupled with a unique ability to reach adults as well as youth, Jeffery Johnson possesses the ability to deliver powerful and life changing messages. He has ministered throughout the United States of America. His preaching and teaching ministry has led him abroad to South America and the British Islands.
Educational JOURNEY
He is a High School graduate of William Marion Raines in Jacksonville, Florida. He received his undergraduated studies from Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Church Ministries. He continued his ministerial studies and earned a Masters of Theology and a Doctorate of Divinity Degree from Saint Thomas Theological Seminary.
Ministerial JOURNEY
Dr. Johnson has been in full time vocational ministry since 2001. Currently he serves the local church as the Pastor of Ministries of 34th Street Church of God, Tampa, Fl where he assists his father in law The Honorable Dr. Thomas Scott (who is also the Chairman of the City Council of Tampa, Fl) in the day to day ministerial organizational operations. He is also the Site Director for the collaboration center between 34th Street Church of God and Warner University.
Organizational JOURNEY
Ecumenical and civically he currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida State Association of the Church of God as the elected recording secretary. Dr. Johnson is the past president of the Florida State Association of the Church of God Youth Ministry in which his ministry was to oversee the various youth ministries of the Church of God for the state of Florida. He also serves as the governance chair for Mavericks of Hillsborough County Charter Schools, LLC.
Dr. Johnson is the Founder and President of Jeffery A.J. Johnson Ministries, Inc., and The Greater Tampa Bay Ministerial Alliance, Inc both are nonprofit ministries housed in the Greater Tampa Bay area that serves to reach communities and congregations through consultation, revivals, workshops, and leadership development and staff training seminars. For his efforts through these initiatives he was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award by the United Way of Tampa Bay, Fl.
Family JOURNEY
He is the youngest child and only boy born to George D. Johnson and Janet Cheeseborough-Harvin. He’s married to Lady Marla Scott-Johnson. Lady Johnson is the Director of Youth and Fine Arts for the 34th Street Church of God. Together they are the parents of Jeffery T.J Johnson. They are expecting thier second child April 2011.
